Othlebed was a port city in the Rhûn region of Middle-earth.  Translating to "Warfinger", it was an Ehwathrumi town that, while very small, grew into an important trade center, likely due to the fact that it served as a halfway point between Lake Town and Caras Falathrim. Its presence was instrumental in the eventual exposure of Folyavulda goods, particularly fine wines, to distant Gondor. It also served as a waystation along the south fork of the Men Rhûnen; a defensive point against invasions from the East; a base for scouting operations in Rhûn.

The lesser loremaster Dauron lived here, along with a small Gondorian garrison situated far away from the authority of the Regent in Thorontir. As a result discipline was usually lax among the seasoned border troops. They were often known to go on ale-fueled rampages in Border towns.

In 22 of the Fourth Age, King Elessar granted a city charter to Othlebed.
