The Snowy Mountains were a huge mountain rage east of the Iron Hills and north of the Ugly Desert. This region was inhabited by an old Dwarven clan called Zîgir in Khuzdul. The capital of the Snowy Mountains was the mountain of Zîr-Dorkhór. The Great Icy Road connected Zîr-Dorkhór with a great mine called Minetown.
