The days immediately after Elessar I
FoA 204 - death of Eldarion Telcontar.
The rule of the five good kings:Estel,Bronwe,Queen Mithiriel,Gilidor,Aldarion.
Gondor expanded
Aldarion’s son Castamir (FoA 580 - 674) and his daughter Aewen (674 - 749) expanded Gondor (now called Numerramë) to the shores of the Bay of Illuin. The Hobbits prospered after a fashion,as once the Elves departed Lindon that fair land was added to the Shire.
The Late Middle Ages
Aewen’s son Daervon succeeded her. His marriage to the lady Elfhild reintegrated Rohan into the realm. The navy was expanded.
The Rohirrim chafed at the loss of their independence. This led to a brief war in the reign of Daervon’s son Elessar II. Elessar II gave the Rohirrim their independence back and had their realm expanded as far as Lorien.
His daughter Beleth faced challenges in the form of the Kingdom of Heaven,an Easterling confederatipn led by the god-king Jin Si. This challenge ended when Jin Si married the Queen’s niece,Lady Ithilwen.
Beleth died in FoA 1006. Her grandson Elrond succeeded her.
The reign of King Elrond
King Elrond was a wise king,as wise as his namesake. Bilbo Took, the Thane of the Shire, sent him many fair gifts. The elf king Thranduil also sent him gifts, before sailing west in 1007. This ended the reign of the Elves on Earth,as Cirdan lord of the Havens departed with him on the Last Ship. Only the Avari were left, and they do not come forth as they did of old.
Elrond married Arya, daughter of Duke Caëstor of Lendmark that was Rivendell, and their son Prince Elessar (III) was fostered in Lendmark. By this time science had made great strides. Telescopes were in usage,as was crop rotation, and the people enjoyed mass literacy and new rights.
In 1021 the first practical steam engine was demonstrated in Hornburg.
The Great Southern War
In 1058,Elessar inherited a great kingdom, which soon experienced war. Under the admiralty of Gaergath, grandson of the Mouth of Sauron,Umbar invaded Lond Daer. The forces of Umbar advanced as far as Elventown before General Kaiden of Bree turned them back. Gaergath was executed upon the ruins of the Barad-dur.
The other phase of the war was a naval war which asserted the preeminence of Gondor.
